What makes a question answerable
A title that states the actual problem
“Differentiating Takotsubo from STEMI in a young female” can be answered. “ECG help?” cannot.
The detail you would give on a ward round
Presentation, relevant findings, what you have already considered and ruled out, and what specifically is confusing you.
The right specialty and type
General query, case report, drug query or exam prep. This decides who sees it.
Tags, sparingly
Up to five. They are for finding the question later, not for describing it twice.
Case reports and patient privacy
A case report asks for chief complaint, key findings, investigations and differentials as separate fields, and requires you to confirm the case is anonymised before it will post.
Anonymise before you paste, not after
Remove names, identifiers, dates of birth, hospital numbers and anything in an image corner. Once something is posted it has been seen. This is the one mistake on the platform that cannot be undone by deleting the post.
Urgency
Mark a question urgent only when it is genuinely time-sensitive. The flag works because it is rare; a feed where everything is urgent is a feed where nothing is.
Reputation
An upvoted question earns +5, an upvoted answer +10, and an answer the asker accepts +15. One vote per person per item.
If an answer solved it, accept it. That is the signal the next person with your problem relies on, and it is the only part of this that you alone can do.
